AFC Ajax Takes a Stand Against Social Media Hate By Wearing Three Dots on Kits

For their next matches in the coming matches, players will be wearing an individual jersey with three white dots in place of their initials. The three dots are a symbol of the universal symbol for silence as well as the “report” button that is used to report hateful comments. The initiative of Ajax is intended to inspire people to stand up to stop online hatred.

SilenceSocialHate is the name of the hashtag Ajax use to advertise their cause. Ajax’s study suggests that, while most Dutch individuals are irritated by hateful social media messages, just a tiny proportion make a report. The normalization of hateful speech is the issue Ajax is hoping to fight through their new jersey.

Brian Brobbey, one of the Ajax’s most popular players, put the best thing: “Social hate will continue until we let it. Be aware of it and report it.”
